CO2 Calculator

The utility below allows you to calculate how much carbon you will save on your project by employing Cadweb.net, rather than using traditional methods of document exchange and control.

We only calculate CO2 emissions saved from travel, print and post. Therefore, this calculator shows the most conservative carbon offset figure that results from the use of Cadweb.net. In reality this figure will be much higher, but as it varies between projects we do not include it.

To use the calculator simply put the value of your project less any land acquisition costs in £ Stirling into the box and press the 'calculate' button. The system will calculate the expected emissions saved by using Cadweb.net.

(The calculator uses the UK government’s vehicle emissions data and the DEFRA carbon offset methodology.)

Please insert the Design and Construction cost of your project less the land acquisition cost

(e.g. for a £10,000,000 project put in 10)

£

Expected number of files that will be sent 70,000
Expected number of issue sheets sent 14,000
Fuel consumption (litres) 64
CO2 saved (tonnes) 7

Assumptions

An average issue of information contains 6 files.

  • The average distance for a reprographics delivery is 3 Km.
  • All calculations based on the use of a Ford Transit Connect Diesel 1.8 Van travelling one way (It is assumed that the return journey would usually be taken up with another delivery).
  • 10% of the information is still printed and delivered.

Emissions figures, formulas, calculations and methodologies are taken from the Vehicle Certification Agency www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk.
