Cadweb is a privately funded Limited company incorporated in 1995 with the sole purpose of providing systems to solve the issues surrounding Document Management and Document Control in the Construction Industry. This requires the provision of a secure, guaranteed method of transmitting, storing and retrieving documents between project members now known as a Project Extranet.
Cadweb version 3 went live in 1996 since when there has been one or more versions of Cadweb in continuous use, 24-7 and 365 days a year, ever since. The current version, Cadweb.net Version 7 went live in July 2006.
Cadweb is now widely acknowledged to be the most established Project Extranet provider in the UK, with a track record and a blue chip client list to match. With the adoption of the Internet as a common medium for electronic exchange, the use of Cadweb.net has grown exponentially.
The company is privately funded and has not required any external (venture capital/bank) finance. Cadweb is now profitable and cash generative and so it enjoys an enviable position of complete financial independence and security. The directors believe that the company has derived and will continue to derive significant competitive advantage from its unique position of financial self-sufficiency. Long term corporate planning is made possible by this financial position, which allows the company’s development to match the long term nature of the projects Cadweb’s clients undertake.
