Jane originally trained as a ceramic artist and now works with fused glass. She is a member of the Hertfordshire Visual Arts Forum and the Contemporary Glass Society. After working as a bookshop/gallery assistant at Zamana Gallery, London, she completed a ceramics degree in Cardiff in 1996 and with a group of artists launched ‘Fireworks Studios’. Her work reflects memories and travels within landscape. Certain objects, textures and discovered fragments have a symbolic significance and act as markers for memory. She handbuilt and fired to stoneware temperatures. Her work is in private collections in the Europe, New Zealand, Greece, Japan and U.S.A.
Jane discovered the delights of glass after completing courses in glass fusing in Swansea with Anna Rosenthal and Detlef Tanz. This has led to a collaboration with her sister Katharine (a painter) to create colourful fused glass artworks.
