Cadweb Limited is very pleased to announce their appointment by Oakmayne Properties on the prestigious £105,000,000 Oakmayne Plaza project in the Elephant and Castle regeneration area of London.
This 458,000 sq ft mixed use scheme has the twin objectives of contributing to the regeneration of the Elephant and Castle area by creating a vibrant public realm, and realizing a place to live which draws on the vitality of the developing locale.
Construction is due to commence this month with phased handover from early 2011. Located on Elephant Road, which links the Walworth Road and New Kent Road. This site has an enormous strategic importance to the Elephant and Castle regeneration as it can provide:
- The creation of the market square, enabling the heartbeat of the Elephant and Castle to commence in 2009.
- The leisure focus for the Elephant with cinemas, restaurants, residential units, retail units and student accommodation.
- The provision of underground parking and loading bays to support the new Elephant and Castle shopping centre.
The development comprises 312 residential units: Student accommodation: Shopping outlets: Restaurants and a cinema. There will also be a new Covent Garden-style Market Square, complete with stalls for boutique retail traders. The site covers one acre.
Cadweb have been appointed to provide Cadweb.net, our market leading Project Collaboration Extranet, to manage the huge flows of information that a project of this scale will generate. We have also been appointed to provide all the support, training and technical advice that the successful implementation of such a system involves.
